We adopted this beautiful cat at one of your ARF Events. At first, the cat seemed frightened and was looking for little places to tuck into and hide. Now he goes all around the house and sits on the balcony getting fresh air. The cat is just what Dad needed! He named him Snickers because that was his wife's favorite candy bar. Dad was very lonely in the house since his wife of 62 years recently passed away. On the first night with Snickers, Dad had a tough time sleeping because Snickers kept coming into the bed with him and rubbing and purring against him. Now after the second night it seems they have worked things out and they are the best of friends. This is a match made in Heaven! Thank you again for helping to select the right cat for Dad. My husband and I adopted Bella the Whippet/Shepard Mix at the Kent adopt-a-thon in June of 2006. The volunteers had told us about her 6 month old life...she suffered a broken leg and her owners refused treatment. She went in to foster care, was adopted again, and then was returned to the animal shelter again due to her new owner's incarceration.
We just wanted to thank all of the volunteers at ARF and
especially her foster family. She is a handful at times, but she can certainly
turn on the charm at her obedience school. We cannot imagine life without our
Bella. We have two other rescue dogs, and trust me, they suffer no longer!
Spoiled, beyond belief!
